Mine came from Ikea this year - nine beautiful flowers, all for £3.45. But they will be over by Christmas. I sort of like them blooming later - something pretty for when all the decorations are down and the house feels a little drab.
I've got some hyacinth that have just as far to go . . . but we will still enjoy them (and perhaps enjoy them more?) in January.I had a dinner party last night and one of the guests brought me a handtied bouquet of red amaryllis.
I'm going to give in and buy some from Mr Waitrose. He's more organised than I am.
